Only mother nature can produce fibers with prism-like structures that allow incoming light to refract at different angles.  This is how silk achieves it's lustrous appearance.  

It's daintiness can be intimidating for inexperienced hands.  Janine Mave from North Carolina knows exactly how to turn this delicate cloth into fine pieces of functional art.  Handpainted scarves, hand bags, pillows and sun hats are just few of her masterly creations.
